The opening lasts a few days.

This was packed in a tight vacuum bag so after cutting the bag open it looks like this hard warped black thing. I posted it and it took about 4 days to fully open and usable. The instructions say you can also put it in water to make it open faster. I didn't try this method as I wasn't in a hurry. After opening it seems fine. Good for filtering. Simply cut into any desired shape with a knife.

Pros

Pore size is measured in pores per inch (PPI). A sponge with a higher PPI has more pores. For best results, it is recommended to use a sponge combo with a PPI difference.
