Nice thick glass top with smooth sides and rounded corners. Extremely easy to assemble, simply screw on the four metal legs. He's not shaky at all; however, it slides too easily on the glass surface (has plastic pads on the bottom of the legs). It's okay, as self-adhesive grip pads can be purchased for a few dollars. I see them being used for double counter or table tops in other areas, so I might buy another one for my kitchen countertop or glass dining table. I put my laptop on this stand and placed it on my glass end table and there was room under the stand for my keyboard, mouse and other things. Overall, I highly recommend this shelf.
