I hesitated between buying this camera and more expensive Lumix like zX5 or ZX7. My previous camera was a Sony Cybershot T-33 with a Carl Zeiss lens and I was so impressed with it that I thought I needed a Leica lens in the Lumix. (There were just a few things I never liked about my Sony and when it broke after 4 years of use I decided to replace it with another brand.) In 2006 I paid about $150 for my Cybershot (it was a 5MP ), so I expected to spend about the same amount this time. I would happily spend a little more for Lumix. I think a Leica lens would make a difference. This little guy is really valuable and he takes very good pictures, he just doesn't have the "pop" that my Sony had. The color may be a little flat, the images are not so clear. I like it and will keep it, but for anyone falling between this and the slightly more expensive Lumix, I'd say back this deal and go for a Leica lens. I just want a good camera for something more than a hundred dollars, it's a good deal and you'll probably like it. It has great zoom and the iA feature makes it really easy to use.
