I expected the cubes to be sturdy, but they're actually more like plastic wrap. I assembled them anyway and was very pleasantly surprised at how well they work. We use them in the closet. They are lightweight and hold an incredible amount of clothing. They are very stable when assembled and have replaced 6 heavy pressed cardboard shelves. The pressed cardboard shelves weighed over 70 pounds and these weighed 11, so they're really easy to rearrange and move around. I liked them so much that I ordered them in the evening. Very happy with them. The husband was impressed by how strong and sturdy they were and how much fun he had putting them together - he says it was like a giant construction toy.
