This product definitely protects my iPhone 7 from getting wet. It was relatively compact compared to my waterproof Canon G9 digital camera. The front of the case is made of relatively thin plastic, which allows the phone's touchscreen to function. I was afraid it would get stuck in my backpack during a recent vacation, but it survived. After a week and a half the surface was a bit scuffed, but that doesn't matter much to me as I will only be using this case occasionally. The touchscreen is definitely more difficult to use in a case, but it's manageable. It was fun to have a wide-angle lens, although the iPhone's camera didn't seem able to focus the entire image. The outer corners were slightly fuzzy compared to the center (see attached image for an example).
