Review on 🐴 Enhance Equine Nutrition with Shires Greedy Feeder Net by Kerry Johnson

Does what it says; Not Perfect

I have a pony sized paint horse that gets fat when exposed to air so I bought this net to slow it down but still give it 24/7 use to give access to food. Overall, it does just that, but it has its downsides. My biggest complaint about this net is that it has a very strong elastic recoil. When filled with hay (holds around 7-10 pounds) the pony will eat from it with no problem. But once it's about half empty, it springs back and has to work harder to get the hay out of the holes; it simply tends to follow the shape of the hay net and as the hay net shrinks the hay moves up to fill in its teardrop shape and stops piercing holes. My pony is alive so I hung his hay nets from branches; It will NOT work with this network. If it's half empty and he can't push it against a wall or other hard surface, he can't get the hay out. It also has a very thick cord that is difficult to tie. It is slippery and prone to slipping. I use a metal clip instead of trying to tie it or it will fall off. and once the thing hits the ground and gets dirty, it's almost impossible to clean. I soaked this thing in a bucket of soapy water for 48 hours and it still held a huge amount of dirt like a sponge. Don't let him fall to the ground. Overall it slows down my lightweight goalie as long as I can safely hang it on a solid wall. It would be great if it could hold more; if it had a little more hay it would probably last a full 24 hours so I would only have to cover it with hay once a day - a win! UPDATE: Literally 24 hours after I wrote this review, Pony chewed a big hole. towards the grid, greatly reducing its effectiveness when slowing down. This went on for about 2 months before he "beat" him.
