Review on πŸ”Š HiFi Bluetooth 5.0 Digital Power Amplifier: Stereo 2/4 Channel Audio Amp - 50W x 4 Performance by Scott Rao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great little device - Amplifier

Actually I would only give it 4.5 stars as there is a bit of false publicity but like most dating profiles its positive attributes have been exaggerated a bit. This is a 4 channel system rated at 50 watts. This means it is a 200w amp. This is a relatively meaningless peak. The number that is more usable in the real world is the RMS rating. The power supply is 24V at 4.5A and only delivers 108W of total power, so that's really all you can get. And the light, the bluetooth receiver and other circuitry adopt some of that too. This little amp is [probably] only putting out about 22-24 watts per RMS channel. Quite acceptable numbers. You don't have to fiddle around here. I've hooked up to 4 outdoor speakers of 8 ohms each using 14 gauge copper wire and it plays pretty loud. I have an SPL meter but haven't tested it as the device is more than loud enough for regular backyards. This won't give you concert-level volume, but it might be loud enough to annoy your neighbors even if they're still inside their house. I had full volume with no distortion. I didn't have 4 ohm or 2 ohm speakers to test, but I expect 2 ohm speakers to play louder at full volume but with extreme distortion. There's no fan and it looks sealed enough to keep dust out. Outside. It doesn't look weatherproof, but it doesn't pretend to be either. I currently have it installed indoors but plan to take it outside under a covered patio. It will not be exposed to rain directly, but it will be exposed to some high humidity. This will likely void the warranty. I was surprised by its small form factor. it's really tiny. I like removing the speaker wire holder. It's a bit awkward, but I found it easier to connect the speaker cables to the device mount and then slide them in once all the cables are in place. The screws are tight and must be loosened before plugging in the speaker cable. The Bluetooth range is satisfactory. I have another similar Bluetooth receiver module that supports line level and TOS-Link fiber optic connections that has a slightly longer range, but this small module achieves almost the same distance. It's a sealed block of metal made from the best Chinese steel available and it looks like the antenna is inside. It might have been better to have an external antenna to get an extra 10+ feet of range, but in my setup which has an outside wall in the way, with 2x6 studs, insulation, drywall, it still gets about 30 Foot. Wall and a solid board that looks like siding. I haven't bought a second one yet, but I'm tempted to buy a second one and have Daisy pair them so I can play the same music on some of the internal speakers at the same time. There's RCA style input and output on the back, which the documentation says is designed for just that purpose. The presence of separate volume controls is both a plus and a minus. There is no master volume. However, you can set this up using your original device (aka iPhone). However, you do have the option to raise or lower the speakers individually, so you can boost the far speaker, lower the near speakers for a better overall level, etc. The volume controls are anodized aluminum (or aluminum if you're in Europe /Canada ) Would buy again and probably will.

Cons
