I bought two of these strips for a DIY Hue installation. One came with a yellow waterproof silicone case and the other was transparent. Apparently one of these was old stock. I connected them to the controller and power supply and wow dim. There's nothing quite like the Hue strip or any of the other best LED strips out there. As you can see from the photos they are both quite yellow now and I have never used them. I was discouraged by the bluntness of the strip so they sat for a while before deciding to buy better ones. I'm glad I did because the new ones blow her mind. Photos are full brightness and are powered by a 12 volt, 5 amp, 60 watt power supply. I hooked them up to a 24 volt, over 100 watt power supply just out of interest. The brightness wasn't any better, so I know that's all the stripes can give. Do yourself a favor and buy higher quality strips if you want to customize Hue yourself. I think some of these reviews here might be fake, like the video review and the guy is holding a phone that isn't available in the States. Most others have English turned off. Find something better because it's disappointing. I feel bad trying to give them away. They must be sent to the trash. One of the LEDs on the strip even failed after about 30 minutes of full use.
