Review on Enhance Your Voice with the Shure PGA58-XLR Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone by Eduardo Davis

Microphone for my wedding! Great microphone!

I bought this microphone for my wedding in June. It was an outdoor wedding, so we also bought a Shure A58WS-BLK foam windscreen to try and maintain voice/audio quality. I'm by no means an audio engineer or audio guru, but the quality of voice dialogue we received from this mic was fantastic for our wedding. Can't speak to its quality when used as a vocal mic or for bands. Pros: - Microphone range was good. You don't have to be close to your lips to understand speech. The angular range in which the microphone can pick up speech is also large. You didn't have to put it directly in your mouth to get a good result. It looks like a quality product. It feels solid and strong. The on/off switch doesn't feel fragile. The metal mesh that protects the microphone is durable and of high quality. Can't say anything about durability as we only used it for practice, wedding and reception. We had a cheap microphone (which comes with the speakers) but the quality is day and night in comparison. LOADS are better Minuses: - I don't actually have any cons. If I had to say something, it would be that the microphone with the windshield bulb is quite large. This wouldn't be ideal for an unobtrusive microphone in a situation where the microphone might be in front of a person's face during a video or photo. Equipment used: - Shure PGA58-LC Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Mic - Shure A58WS - BLK Foam Windscreen - GLS Audio 25ft Mic Cable - Mackie PROFX8V2 8-Channel Compact Mixer with USB and Effects - ION Total PA Max Speakers
