Seems like it would be great if I could adjust the angle of the light.

Had to go back to edit this review. Immediately after installing this I fell in love with the brightness and thought it would be way better than it ended up being. Using this lamp on the highway or in well-lit streets at night is pretty good. I can see the ground in front of me and I have the support of street lights to ensure I can see with incredible clarity at night. - black dark. The problem is that the field of view is too narrow. With a low beam, it illuminates the ground from about 6 1/2 feet to about 30 feet away. When I turn on the light, the distance increases from 6 1/2 feet to almost 50 feet. In both modes, about 20 feet in front of the bike, the maximum usable light width is about 30 feet. The problem is when I'm driving I can't see anything at all outside of the 50 foot range. It is very dark there because the street is not lit at all. I don't feel safe and changed the light after only two nights. The standard halogen lamp gave me a greater sense of security because I felt like I could see further. My bike is a 2009 XL1200L Sportbike and the headlight housing is not adjustable. Maybe it would be better if I could tilt the light, but for a fixed light body bike I definitely wouldn't recommend it. The field of view is just too narrow. I guess it's a little lower so I don't blind oncoming drivers, but the downside of having the bulb pointed at the ground is I can't see further than 50 feet.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
