I installed 4 sections of these lights under the workbench to illuminate the bottom shelf and 2 sections under the small shelf at the back of the bench. I only have a dim lightbulb in my garage so extra lighting helps a lot. The adhesive backing of the LEDs didn't stick to the bare wood at all, but I wasn't expecting that. I used the little clips that came with the lights, I drilled 3 for each light and they held up well. The tiny clamping screws are a bit annoying, but that's also because I work in a very small space. They provided many clamps for installing all sections of LED strips.
