Review on Sony WI1000X/B: Black Wireless Behind-Neck In-Ear Headphones with Premium Noise Cancelling by Eimei Suzuki ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

Before that, there were the first generation MDR-1000X, mdr-ex750ap (h. Ear in) and a bunch of other headphone models from Sony and not only. There is something to compare with. I use with Comply comfort. With Comply, the noise isolation is much better, but the bass, as for me, is too pressing. With complete "foams" the characteristic is smoother, but the insulation is slightly worse. As I understand it, the headphones are structurally similar to the XBA-N1AP, which many do not praise for their relatively rustic middle (in the price range) compared to the older XBA-N3AP. If this is the case, then there are no wireless analogs of the N3 yet, and it turns out that the WI-1000X is currently the best of the wireless in-ears. Rest assured that the sound will not disappoint you. Unless of course you're picky. But if you are picky, why did you come for wireless sound then? :)) Among other things, keep in mind the following, which is not included in reviews and marketing materials: - DSEE HX only works in SBC mode (i. E. when the LDAC codec is not used) - Equalizer only works in SBC mode - DSEE HX together with the equalizer does not work. Either one or the other. - minion with all other sound effects - only in SBC mode - on the cord, if the phone is charging and noise reduction is turned on, you will clearly hear low-frequency noise. The "optimizer" does not help, it is solved by turning off the noise reduction, or by removing the phone from charging. - noise reduction optimizer (holding the button on the right half of the headband for 2-3 seconds) I recommend using it more often. takes a little time, but the quality of the result is significantly affected. and the most important thing: - to everyone who complains about a bad microphone when making calls: it's not obvious, but it turns out that you need to speak IN THE HEADPHONE :) i. E. when talking, it looks like this - one earpiece is in your ear, pull out the second and speak into the microphone located on it, used for noise reduction.

Pros
  • - Build quality - you can immediately see what you give money for) - Hybrid design - As a result - impressive bass (including subwoofer) and high-precision top (which, oddly enough, does not cut the ears, but rather compares with a delicate sewing machine) - Really wide and detailed scene. It seems to me that in this regard they bypass the older MDR-1000X - The LDAC codec is a next-level shield for wireless sound (although the sound is still a little more to my liking on the cord) - The application for the phone, despite some limitations (see in the comments), adds convenience and is quite appropriate for itself. - Working time 10-14 hours - IMHO is adequate for their size and functionality. (I charge about once every three or four days) - Large selection of ear pads included. (and the whole set is rich)
Cons
  • Noise cancellation is still inferior to the first MDR-1000X. However, it is still better than the vast majority of both passive and active headphone models. Plane, subway, wind - all this does not interfere with enjoying music. The V-shaped characteristic works great on electronics, hippie, and all that, but I want a deeper and more elaborate mids where there is an emphasis on vocals, piano, violins, guitars, etc. Naturally, I put this as a disadvantage, adjusted for the price tag - I still want 100% return and range coverage for 20k :) In addition, it is precisely in contrast to the excellent deep basses and filigree-clear highs that the lack in the middle is clearly visible. It doesn't mean she's "bad". Not at all. However, in the same relatively unpretentious h. Ear in (5,000), I probably like the middle even more.
