Review on 🚴 Max 300 PSI High-Pressure Bicycle Shock Pump by RockShox by Bohyun Hansen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Value for money

Not bad for the price. This is my second shock pump, before that I had an Avenir shock pump (http://www.amazon.com/Avenir-Shock-Gauge-Silver-Black/dp/B00165Q912/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top), unfortunately Revain don't sell it anymore . What I liked about Avenir is that it uses a two-tier connector. This allows you to first connect the hose before the pin snaps into place, and a second step will push the pin through and allow air to flow. In the same way, you loosen the pin and then you can casually remove the nozzle without losing air. But recently I had a leak in the Avenir so I needed a new pump. My rear shock has a slow leak so I probably used it more than usual. But based on the good reviews about this RockShox, I decided to give it a try. That's not bad - the air loss is very brief, but inevitable. I've found in my testing that you lose about 10-15psi, so you only need to take that into account when pumping. This is plain rubber tubing as opposed to the Avenir braided tubing so I am skeptical of how long this thing will last. Another thing is that the shaft is very short and narrow so I think I really need to work on that. But for the price it's great, even if I work for a year or two. it's not bad.
