Stay away!: Audio-video installation in the car

This is junk. Find an alternative! It only got a second star because it's pretty easy to connect and install and the sound comes through. I ordered this for its ability to retain GM features like the horn and rear seat entertainment. It's actually decently more expensive than one that doesn't retain any rear-seat entertainment features. It was wasted money because with the DVD in the RSE player it can't decipher that and the factory satellite radio plays both at the same time. I could live with that, BUT: when installing the first GMOS-014, I noticed that the speakers turn on and off when I move the wiring harness. I have traced it back to a short in the wiring going into the box. I completed the installation when my new head unit and backup camera were installed and contacted Revain for a replacement. Revain received 500 stars for customer service! During the week the sound only came through 1 speaker. I just replaced the box hoping that would fix the problem but it didn't. I tied the wires to a wire harness to keep them from moving and all was fine for a couple of weeks. A few days ago the passenger side started fading and cracking so I put on a new seat belt. Guess what? Exactly the same problem in the same place on the suspension. I could wiggle the speaker level wire going into the box and the passenger speaker would toggle on and off. I retied that zipper but the other one isn't even worth trying. I'll probably be bypassing the entire factory system soon and returning this thing for a refund. Also, the hardest part of this install was reinstalling the giant bird's nest of wires back into the dash! The first took me half an hour to organize and tie the harness to get it neat and still took forever to hide it enough to fit my two din head unit. I just put this one in and it was about the same. This pendant is a great idea but feels very cheap and poorly made. Look for alternatives.
