I bought these specifically to replace the elastic (useless right?) in my husband's new swim trunks. The plastic needle threader, while handy, doesn't work well with the laces in this kit. Why? The needles are too big for the holes in the needle threader. It was difficult to feed and even more difficult to remove. The laces themselves are loosely woven, meaning they will stretch a bit if you pick up the ends and pull. more than I've ever seen on materials like shoelaces...but then again, they're meant for hoods and such, not shoes. I replaced my husband's ridiculous elastic drawstring in his swim trunks with one of these drawstrings and he was happy.
