I was a little nervous about buying this dimmer as there were no reviews at the time. However, once I received and installed the dimmer (a round plastic direct touch version) I couldn't be happier. Finally ordered a second one! The dimmer is solidly designed for the plastic part. In practice, press to turn on/off and touch and hold to increase or decrease the brightness. To change direction, remove your finger and place it on the dimmer to change direction. The dimming level is saved, so if you like less light output, set the level and then just click to turn on and click to turn off. NO flickering was detected at the minimum setting. The only area for improvement would be to allow the ladder to exit out the back. This completely hides the conductors after the switch is installed. A small indentation on the back helps. But that is a very small consideration. As mentioned, I liked this feature so much that I ordered a second one for my second LED strip installation.
