My husband is a carpenter and was impressed by how beautiful and durable it is. For the price I paid he couldn't build it for me. We rearranged it a bit and were able to make two more shelves. Don't take this if you have a big cat as the shelves and bed aren't that big. My 12 inch and 12 pound cat (not fat) doesn't even try to climb into the bed and only sits on the shelves to look out the window. I actually bought this for two 6 month old kittens that we adopted. The bed is the 7 pound kitten's favorite spot, and her sister loves to lie on the top bunk and look out the window. This should suit them as we think they should be of medium height when they grow up. Wooden shelves as they are bare wood and soak up any water etc. *** Ordered floor to ceiling for our LR from another company and the cats couldn't move from one shelf to the other. Only thing they liked was the basket. Came back and I will be buying 2 more of these to make the corner of my LR floor to ceiling.
