Review on Slappa Resistant SL GAMMA & SL BETA LAPTOP BP Backpack: Ultimate Protection and Convenience by Lauren Marley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I really like the simple exterior that contrasts with the sophisticated interior.

I really like the simple exterior that contrasts with the sophisticated interior. Pockets upon pockets upon pockets, each with plenty of storage space. There are two main compartments - one is clearly for a laptop and the other for accessories - a charger, pens, USB drives, Bluetooth or wireless mice, headphones, etc. If your laptop is under 15 inches and thinner than 15 inches mine ASUS , you can secure your laptop in a tight space closer to the back of the second pocket. Otherwise, it just dangles in the second pocket, which isn't exactly secure, but the backpack is snug enough to minimize laptop movement in the backpack. It was an interesting place to put your bag. I think you will want to put your wallet, phone, USB stick or external storage in this pocket as it seems the most secure and out of reach for others. Another pocket is in front of the backpack and has a vertical zipper; This case is best for your bluetooth or wireless mouse or charger. I wouldn't stuff this bag too full or your backpack will look weird and lumpy. There are so many inner pockets that I will not discuss them in detail. However, I have photographed each inner pocket so you can determine if these pockets fit your needs. Personally I think the materials were of good quality and the stitching is clean and crisp which is very nice to look at. In general, the look and functionality of the backpack is as expected. For that alone, it gets a 5-star rating. However, it does not receive a 5-star rating. In the video I posted, I put a small amount of water on my pack to test its rainproofing because I occasionally ride my motorcycle to work and because it's important that your pack can adequately protect your gear from the elements. I'm not saying it should withstand a hurricane, but it should provide enough protection so you can escape inclement weather and protect your gear until you get out of those conditions. It failed miserably from water and my charger got wet. To be honest, for those on a budget, I would advise seriously considering your options. There are many other backpacks and laptop bags that can outperform this foul weather backpack for the same price. It's a real shame because I really liked the look of this backpack; I just can't in good conscience give him a 5/5 if he can't properly protect the gear he's supposed to be wearing.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad
