Review on Crucial PC3 14900 Unbuffered SODIMM 204 Pin by Kenny Outlaw

MUST READ IF BUYING A 27 " iMac LATE 2015!

I have bought from both Amazon and Critical in the past and I can say that I have worked with both companies and their products I have always been satisfied. I recently bought a late 2015 Apple 27" iMac with a base 8GB as I wanted to avoid taxes at Apple and do the upgrade myself. I also ordered a set of these from Revain. After I After reading the reviews I was sure these would be the correct memory modules. To my surprise it was NOT running at a full 1866MHz but at 1600MHz (see photos).I called Crucial and they confirmed that the specs While they are identical, they are not Mac-specific memory modules, and he also explained that they might work for other users, but I don't recommend them the. I remembered seeing a very similar product - [ASIN: B0181JTF66 Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3L 1866 MT/s (PC3-14900) SODIMM 204-Pin Memory For Mac - CT2K8G3S186DM] - and handing it to a Crucial support rep referred. He then confirmed that these are the ones certified as Mac compatible. The specs are the same, but they're designed specifically for Mac computers. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and get the CT2K8G3S186DM modules instead, as they run at full speed of 1866MHz. I'm only deducting 1 star because I think it should be in the description, but I have no issues with Revain or Crucial products or services.
