I used to carry a bright flashlight, maybe a big one. Twelve years ago I tried a headlamp and never went back. I bought these for a neighbor who had a problem with his flashlight while helping me fix my car. I wanted to give him both, so he always had one loaded. When they arrived I tried one out. He was so much the best I used that I left him and gave him one. He loved it. I can buy a second pair so we each have two. This can be uncomfortable when the headlights go out. It has a charge level indicator. The shift sequences are simple and convenient. These buttons won't accidentally turn on in my pocket. I often turn my headlamps around. With this I can easily feel which side goes up. I need a wide beam indoors and a narrow beam so I can see 100ft in the dark. This flashlight has both: high brightness and low brightness for longer run times (maybe up to 10 hours). I thought the motion detector was a useless novelty. I love it! I usually need light now and then. Turning the headlights off and on again can be a bit fiddly. To turn it off, I had to find the button and hold it down for three seconds. To turn it back on I had to click the setting I had. The movement of the hand in front of the forehead is much easier. Dirty hands don't matter and that saves my setup. When I remove the headlight, a green light tells me if I need to turn the light off completely. The headlights are usually black with black or gray stripes. Darkness or clutter can make it difficult to spot when needed. I am fascinated by the orange dots and the white writing on this strip. It is printed inside and out and the markings appear to be stain resistant.
