I love Mint Lip Balm. I love the tingle of mint on my lips. Especially if I have cold sores or really chapped lips. Its relaxing. I have tried many other brands that claim to have the same ingredients or basically the same. Everyone says their products are all the same, but you know that's not the case at all. They always neglect to list one or more ingredients. So I compared quite a bit. I love Burt's Bee Mint Lip Balm. Feels clean when applied. He doesn't look fat. I assume the ratio of beeswax to their formula is higher. Most of the chopsticks I've used felt like rubbing wax into my lips. A good thing in my opinion. The smell is also faint but pleasant, peppermint and a hint of beeswax. The taste isn't that bad. He won't eat the lip balm, but you can taste it when you eat or drink something. Can not do anything. I also tried the JR Watkins brand. There is a discrepancy between the whistles, as is sometimes the case with Burt's Bee. The JR Watkins brand has a higher percentage of wax than Burt, but also appears to contain more coconut or sunflower oil. It glides and feels greasy, but not by much. The JR brand has a much stronger flavor than Bert's. It's more of a sweet mint and coconut scent. I actually smell the beeswax. The taste is not very good if you pick it up fresh from your lips after applying it. It has a medicinally bitter taste. I'm still a fan because it doesn't usually feel oily/greasy on my lips when I apply it. I also tried the CVS Beeswax Mint Lip Balm. This is also not compatible between lamps, but more so than the JR Watkins brand. The CVS brand is very similar to the Burt's Bees brand in feel, taste and smell. Then I tried this brand. dr Bronner's Mint Lip Balm with Beeswax. It's fairly consistent between tubes, but it's very heavy in "other" added oils besides beeswax. The proportion of beeswax seems to be very low compared to others. The smell is pleasant, very sweet, mint-coconut. Too cute if you ask me. The taste is very similar to the JR brand, a medicinal hint of minty bitterness. But the feeling is my biggest complaint. It feels overly fat. It's like it's silky soft in the tube but oily on the lips. The Burt's Bees and CVS brands provide a clean feel as they are primarily wax and wax is non-slip. It has a waxy feel. Of course! JR Watkins and Dr. Bronners have a lot less beeswax. Very little of what I found in Dr. would have suspected Bronner's fall. These are most coconut and sunflower oils. Coconut oil feels slightly sticky as it absorbs into the skin, while sunflower oil does not. But both feel very oily. I hate oily lips. I feel like wiping my lips. Being primarily an oil, you will also need to reapply it more often as it wears off quickly. Drink and half of what you put on your lips is now on the glass. The next drink and it's time for another application. Considering the cost of Dr. Bronner is the most expensive lip balm out of all 7 brands I tested. The most expensive of the 4 mentioned here. It was $8.49 plus $2.99 shipping for 2 tubes. Make each tube more than $5 a tube. Retail, Burt's Bees and JR Watkins were $3.99 plus tax per tube for each brand. The CVS brand is $2.49 plus tax per tube. if you can find it (usually not easy, very popular). Now don't get me wrong. i love dr Bronner's brand. Their "Castilian" soaps, liquid soaps are the best I have come across with the exception of handmade Castilian lye soaps and plain lye soaps. I'm having trouble getting a bar of their Mint Castile soap in a bar of soap. Liquid castile soap with mint is also the best. Very strong scent, cleans very well without leaving a greasy feeling when rinsed off. Everything is fine. Even their castile mint soap and mint toothpaste. But lip balm. I would say it's a bust. although a good bust.
