Unit stopped working after a month, just in time to miss a return to Revain. His controls no longer worked reliably. CD playback stops abruptly and the PLAY function is disabled. When restarting, all buttons are disabled. Changing a CD or inserting another leaves the device READING indefinitely, the radio button does nothing. Power cycling sometimes restores the RADIO, but the CD button still does NOT start the CD spinning (while the stupid status window claims it's READING). Sometimes it will play the CD again for a while, but eventually it shuts down leaving the entire device unusable. What now? Is there any other way out for me other than starting the Sony warranty service process? UPDATE: Sony not only replaced the failed unit - quickly and free of charge, with a perfectly working unit - but also, upon request, sent back the library CD which I forgot to remove from the unit. when I returned it (which saves me the huge replacement cost at the library). Sony exceeded all my expectations in every way. And it's an amazing boombox!
