We're always on wheels and to conserve propane in the winter we turn off the thermostat at night. We were tired of our heavy duvet (usually too warm and kept slipping off the bed) and looking for a combination that would suit us best, we ordered this duvet. Like a layer of clothing during the day, we use this duvet over a regular sheet. On the comforter we have a LL Bean flannel sheet. In addition, we have a decorative quilted bedspread (not heavy). I have a warmer personality than my wife so I'll just start with this blanket. If the bedroom cools down at night, we can add more layers if needed. With a flannel sheet on top, this loft quilt helps us snuggle up like two bugs on a rug without feeling like a lead sheet. When it hits puberty at night or a very low 20 (F) I can—only can—raise the covers.
