My ancient Logitech MX500 is still working fine. She is very productive even now. Unfortunately, starting with Windows 7, the firm no longer provides support for the key assignment program. Those side buttons—the ones I use for copy-and-paste—cannot be assigned to anything. There are also no emulation programs that are helpful. As a consequence of this, and also as a consequence of the fact that I desired to get rid of the wire, I made the decision to acquire a mouse made by the same manufacturer. The process of purchasing gaming mice seemed like being strangled by a toad, so I decided to go with the M705, which has a rating that is satisfactory. When turning on the mouse, I was greeted by a surprise right away; it is a sensation that is very difficult to put into words, but something about it just didn't seem quite right. I just couldn't get even the desktop shortcuts to load up quickly and clearly for some reason. I attempted to play CS:GO, and it was a nightmare! It is just impossible to guide the mouse to the appropriate location at this time. No sensitivity adjustments worked, and none of the other things tried helped either. In the end, what was going on became clear to me once I read the reviews that were written about this mouse. The laser being off-center is, in point of fact, the focal point of the discussion. It is quite inconvenient to do so. It's difficult to explain, but the mouse cursor won't go where you want it to go even if you've tried. For instance, if you guide it diagonally, you may believe that the mouse would arrive at point X; however, it really arrives a few millimeters lower and to the left of where you expected it to be. It is completely impossible to draw a line that is straight using this mouse! It is just not possible to work in any application, including AutoCad and others, while simultaneously playing a game. I cannot in good conscience suggest that ANYONE purchase this mouse. My only regret is that I didn't take the time to believe the unfavorable evaluations. This morning I went to the store and they somehow managed to change it for me. I brought the G602 model with me, which, although being twice as expensive, is superior in every way despite its name. Positioning that is crystal clear, quality that can be adjusted to varying degrees, and a plethora of configuration options. I should also mention that I used it for a number of hours, however when I stopped, the rubber portion of the mouse where the thumb rests had six marks from where the nail had been. In general, you should avoid making the same mistakes as other people. The M500 or M510 is the preferable option if you are looking for an excellent mouse at an affordable price. These are mice that have weathered the storm of the passing of time.
