Review on Manfrotto Befree Live MVKBFRT-LIVEUS Twist Tripod with Video Head, Compact, Aluminium, Black by Jerry Olson

Worst tripod I've ever seen

Where do I start listing problems with this tripod?1. At first, horizontal rotation seems like just one big screw. That's a problem, because if you rotate the camera (or spotting scope or whatever) horizontally, you're also twisting it. Because of this, it gets wobbly and defeats the whole purpose of the tripod. If you screw it all the way in, it won't wobble, but you can't turn it any further in one direction. Again, if you're using a camera/tripod to photograph something that's moving, it's very bad. It is not fixed. I was only using it for 3 or 4 months when it just fell apart. By "falling apart" I mean the entire base that the camera is mounted on split into three pieces just when I tried to take the camera off. Again, when you're mounting thousands of dollars worth of camera gear on a tripod, this shouldn't happen.3. The camera assembly and disassembly system is very poorly designed. It uses a relatively small screw-based handle. That's bad because it's mounted directly below the camera, making access difficult. Also, I found that the camera wasn't secure unless I tightened the screw VERY tight. It was also a nightmare because that knob is very difficult to turn. This in turn makes it difficult to remove the camera. This is unforgivably bad design. In short, this was the worst tripod I have ever owned and I deeply regret buying it.
