Too much good play for bundled tripods

This tripod head has so much play that it's not very useful to me. Most of the play comes from the swivel mechanism, and it's new, only bought last week. The pan locking knob is small, and even if I finger-tighten it, I can still force the plastic to pivot. The tilt handle is larger and doesn't have this problem. The sliding plate requires a coin to tighten the chamber. On the plus side, it's lightweight and looks good.

Good but not the best in the Camera & Photo category

I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. Seems better than 3 but I'm not sure I would call it a 4. I was looking for a solid, compact tripod with good smooth head movement. Pleased with the strength and compactness. But the liquid pressure was not very good. I needed more precise control over the movement but found it difficult to maintain smooth, controlled movement. I decided to up my game with an IFOOTAGE tripod base and separate fluid head. Wow what a difference. I ended up spending another $90…

    Worth the money Tripods complete

After looking at all the tripod options I settled on this one. I needed a small tripod that could hold a variety of cameras, including a point-and-shoot and a camcorder. I like how it can be folded upside down which saves space. I also like how light it is. I know there are cheaper tripods out there but I wanted to make sure I was buying a quality product as that is what will hold up my expensive cameras. There's no point in spending all that money on expensive camera gear and a cheap tripod…

    Great on stock tripods

Just received this tripod today. I was looking for something similar with a moving head after realizing that my Sony 4k camcorder is extremely sensitive to even the slightest movement. It arrived in perfect condition and I am more than satisfied with its performance. Both pan and tilt are very smooth and the carbon fiber construction makes it more stable than the aluminum version. (I have a Befree Travel point-and-shoot, ILC, and aluminum DSLR.) Both excel in build quality and performance. I…

    Compact tripod great for travel

This is a really well made tripod! It's mostly aluminum with some plastic parts. It's not the lightest tripod at just over 4 pounds, but its compactness helps. It comes with a carrying case with built-in padding. It has a smooth twisting and tilting motion up and down which makes the moment so smooth. Pros: - Compact - Well balanced after installation - Fluid movement (just tilt and rotate) is very smooth! - Detachable head (the real reason is too expensive) - Rubber feet grip well - Locking…

    Replacing an old tripod

I was looking online for a replacement for an old tripod before buying it and then settled on the Manfrotto Befree. However if I didn't like it I would return it. When I unfolded it I was surprised at how solid it is, a little heavier than my old aluminum but the stiff feel, especially when panning, makes up for it. There are two considerations to keep in mind: Befree comes with two models of legs, one with a round nut and a push-lock model, I have round nuts. Most photographers don't like this

One of my legs got stuck a couple of times

*UPDATE Monday 8th July *Downgraded from 3 stars to 1 star. Took this to Joshua Tree National Park on Saturday June 29th. Screw caps are not good. Sometimes you can accidentally unscrew the lock from its place. And it doesn't tighten when you turn it clockwise to tighten, rendering it useless. Because then the tripod will not stand. You're twisting it forever when you realize the twist lock is disconnected from the tripod leg. Putting it all back together in the dark was a nightmare, mind you I

    Worst tripod I've ever seen

Where do I start listing problems with this tripod?1. At first, horizontal rotation seems like just one big screw. That's a problem, because if you rotate the camera (or spotting scope or whatever) horizontally, you're also twisting it. Because of this, it gets wobbly and defeats the whole purpose of the tripod. If you screw it all the way in, it won't wobble, but you can't turn it any further in one direction. Again, if you're using a camera/tripod to photograph something that's moving, it's…

    Great product, best quality.

A tripod without taking into account the head is a gun! Only the price is TOO high. Once upon a time I took a tripod with a head on alik (in my opinion it is even better than this one in work) in the region of 5k (not higher) well, yes, not manfrotto and there is no such comfort in bending the legs and stretching them in length everything, but the price is 20 caciques lower))) And you can invest twenty in another business somewhere) well, or go to the extreme in a stripuha :D In general, I…

    Pros
    • The tripod itself is ideally compact, it clearly fits into the backpack (I took it for this, so as not to carry it on backpack ropes outside)) On telescopic legs, normal twist-on clamps - half a turn
    Cons
    • The head plays in a horizontal disk (the lamb spins with all its might. The body itself plays on this disk when you move the body back and forth, left and right, it seems to be normal) The movement itself along the horizon is normal - without jerks and extraneous friction, the resistance is normally regulated by the lamb, but if you loosen too much, more play appears Vertically, it’s just harsh - there’s no smoothness and it feels like the lamb bolt rubs on the metal inside there . the lamb is pressed vertically, because at least some kind of resistance is needed, it simply doesn’t exist on the released one In short, the head will need to be replaced unambiguously, it is not suitable for video, there is simply no buzz from work)

I'm a tripod fan - I have the original famous Gitzo G1228 Traveler carbon fiber with real Arca-Swiss head - - $1500+ today. Okay, it's unfair to compare a $1500 tripod/head to a $350 unit - yes. However, in reviews it is WRONG not to list EVERYTHING PLUS and AGAINST this device. Pros: 1. Very light weight - small enough to fit in most carry-on bags. 2. Comes with a decent carry bag. 3. Manufactured by Manfrotto (via China I suspect). 4. Leg twist locks work well and smoothly. 5. The built-in…

Good tripod, poor quality moving head

The overall design, look, feel and functionality of the tripod is good and affordable. There are no objections in this regard. But the liquid head is an absolute joke. I haven't had any issues with broken parts as others have noted, but having read other reviews on this aspect of this product I have been very careful with tightening and handling the set screws on the fluid head so I may be in luck respect. I suspect that those who haven't had any problems or discomfort with the fluid head are…
