Review on 💻 Targus PA248U2 Chill Mat: A Cooling Solution for Laptops by Dean Love

Some reviews on it were mixed - good and bad. I have a 15.5 inch Sony Vaio laptop. Your laptops are notorious for overheating. When I got my laptop back in 2006 I bought 2 Targus PA248U2 cooling pads. One for each of my Vaio laptops. Got them from BestBuy probably around this price as I don't remember them being expensive otherwise I would have lowered the price. It has 2 fans as you can see in the picture and does an excellent job of cooling both laptops. My old Vaio overheated a lot more than my new one, which at 5 years old isn't all that new anymore. However, this cooling assistant cooled both of them. The underside of the cooling pad is sturdy, so you can place the pad on your lap with your laptop on top. There are 6 tiny solid feet (at the corners and center top and bottom. The fan is silent. I've had both of my mats for 5 years now. I sold my old Vaio laptop over 2 years ago so I've been using them you the other one as a spare I have to vacuum the fans regularly as dust collects inside I love the fact that the fan only needs power from your laptop and no other outlet to power it, but you still have a USB -Port less so if you have 2 you only have 1 for the first 4 years of my laptop it was always on and my targus cooling mat ran all the time and it worked great no complaints but for 5 years the fan has been not always works as well and i buy another cooling pad.one of my cooling pads works fine and the other one is barely running out of power.i need my laptop to cool and for the price it works very well.i keep mine n laptop rarely on my lap and it's mostly on my desk all the time. I don't use a laptop keyboard, I have an external wireless keyboard so that helps. If you need a cooling pad to level your laptop on, this cooling pad isn't for you. However, if your laptop is mostly on the table then that's fine.
