This is excellent! I read about lip balm while I was on the train. She was a magazine editor and mentioned that this lip balm is her father's favorite. Something she highly recommends herself. I followed the link and bought it from Revain. I've always been taken in by non-irritating lip balm ads ever since I developed super sensitive skin in high school. (I'm allergic to the typical big 4 active ingredients in chemical sunscreens. I can't use many lip products, my face and lips swell up.) I wasn't very happy when I received it. Let's say I have too much lip balm in my room. BUT this one is different! The texture is pretty smooth. I hate everything "oily smooth" that's too greasy for me. It's like grease smearing. The texture is a little lighter than petroleum jelly lip products in small plastic jars, not as greasy like lanolin and not as waxy as Burt's Bees. What I have to commend is that it works. I have very chapped lips, I drink 4 16oz Poland Springs in 8 hours but my lips are still dehydrated. I also have a bad habit of brushing my lips when I'm bored. Yes, not very pretty lips. This lip balm really softens the flaky skin on my lips. With other lip balms, I still feel crusts and spots on my lips when I rub my lips. This lip balm does an excellent job of smoothing out those blemishes. I apply it in the evening, in the morning my lips are very soft. For someone with chronically chapped lips, this works very well. I regret not taking the extra one I bought to work. The only thing that worries me is long-term use. Hydrocortisone contains a steroid and I shouldn't use it that often. :/

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Low maintainability
