I wanted something that could accurately detect the humidity level in my basement so my dehumidifier could turn on ONLY when needed. By default, the dehumidifier fan runs continuously to accurately sense the indoor humidity, but this results in a HUGE energy loss. I used to set it on a timer, but I didn't like the idea that I couldn't control it when needed and didn't work when it didn't. IT WAS THE PERFECT SOLUTION. You can also set the desired humidity and differential (example: desired humidity 55% with a differential of 10%, this will reach 65% before you turn the dehumidifier on and then lower it to 55% and then turn it off). There are even high and low humidity alarms! I would say the price is good value for money! I look forward to saving money for years to come!
