I am using a Buffalo DriveStation Axis Velocity 2TB USB 3.0 desktop hard drive for a DIY DVR with multiple TV video capture cards. Currently I have at most TWO cards burned on this disc (two different TV channels) and I can WATCH (one reads) and maybe even read another show that I edited and edited on another disc. This allows two processes to write to disk and two processes to read from disk at the same time. It's pretty intense. The little green light will flash almost immediately when all of this is happening. Of course sometimes nothing happens. But it runs 24/7 with hundreds of TV shows on disc, and of course most shows are watched. (I often lag a day behind the breaking news.) After a year, the drive finally gave up. But with a two-year warranty, getting a replacement was easy. Customer service was friendly, helpful. You will need to call for the RMA process. After searching their website for several days and not finding a way to submit an RMA request, I finally called. A few minutes on the phone and I have an RMA. I haven't received my replacement yet but they assure me that I will receive it after they receive my CD that I sent them. I had no problems with their customer service. I say this because other people have complained about it. I have a lot of external drives. Lacie, Buffalo, Western Digital, Seagate, Dlink (RAID 1 NAS) and others I can't remember right now. (More internal drive manufacturers.) And I have a lot of experience. I've had successes and failures. So far, Buffalo has been successful. Seriously, few homeowners use discs the way I do. I'm not trying to brag - I have at least 14TB of online storage - this is just a quick estimate. I'm disabled, so I lie in bed a lot and watch a lot of news and other shows to take my mind off the pain. Anyway, long recap. Just wanted to add my "hat" to support a company I have had good results with so far. I also have their BUFFALO DriveStation Axis Velocity 3TB USB 3.0 desktop hard drive currently being used here. If I encounter any problems I will update this review.
