I originally bought a large baby size 1 and returned it. The return process was hassle free. I ordered the next size up. My son is 6 years old and wears size 1, size 2 for big kids fits great with little room to grow. But I didn't buy them for water. We have a stone wall in our house and I bought it for my son to keep in an occupational therapy room and climb up the wall safely.
