Initially I once have four children and live in northern Wisconsin (north on Lake Superior). We have tried many brands and these boots are of comparatively excellent quality. I was concerned about the velcro but the velcro is strong! Much stronger than any other shoe I've seen. But what makes them even better is that they actually fit my son's orthotics (Surestep SMO). The hardest part was finding winter boots that opened wide enough for him. In general, they are just excellent. I cannot recommend them enough.
