Perfect for 2012 Sportage

Perfect for 2012 Sportage. There are great videos on the Internet that give instructions on how to change the housing. I will try to describe the process and clarify some questions I had beforehand. The original key may be difficult to open. Remove the key and a cavity will appear with the key in the closed state. Just pry it open and it will fall apart with some effort. Remove the circuit board (my key fob doesn't have a transmitter(?), others can) and ignition key from the old case and place them in the new case. You need to increase the tension of the spring in the key to make it pop out, turn it counter clockwise before closing the 2 parts of the case. metal part that slides out). If your original is intact, you can ignore the new stock/assembly. The original ignition key, spring and knob assembly are perfectly transferred to the new case. If your original is damaged, you may need to remove the pin and replace the blank with a cut key. (I've seen videos and instructions that say removing the pin and reversing the keys, but this is a complicated process and not necessary unless the original is damaged.) The new case closes with a small screw and feels secure. I hope that made sense, just know everything fits and works perfectly for this model.
