Review on πŸ“¦ Honeywell VISTA 20P Aluminum Enclosure for Control Panel by Emanuel Frison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable and doable for almost everything.

I am using this to update the fire and security panel in my new home. I used it to replace a similar Honeywell/Ademco Vista 20P that was over 20 years old. These things last a long time, which is exactly what I want from a home fire/security system. The panel I received came with resistors for both "normal" and "zone doubling" configurations. It also included a Honeywell power supply, a panel lock, and a programming guide. My panel also came with modern firmware "10.23". If your device doesn't come with all of these things, the seller you bought from is probably selling a modified kit to increase their income at your expense. Be careful. If you have never worked with one of these panels, then read on. Yes, you need a battery, sensors and at least one alphanumeric keyboard and cables. The exact parts you buy will depend on your needs, so do some research first. I've added the Envisalink Internet Communicator which I recommend. It supports many other communication options (dial-up services, pagers, cellular, etc.). It has a ton of impressive expansion options. It supports up to 15 wired zones by default, but dozens more zones can be easily added with wireless sensors or wired expansion units.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
