Review on TFY Headrest Sylvania SDVD9805 Portable by Nick Shirodkar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly what I was hoping for!

Yes! If you have a Sylvania portable DVD player, you're going to need it. We used the straps that came with it, which confused one of the players. We had to use a string attached to the top of the player to keep it closed enough to play. I think the player is only attached to the back panel, that's why. So we're doing a 20+ hour road trip at 3.5 years and 1.5 years, so I was really looking for something better. So true! They're incredibly easy to attach and remove (essential for changing films and/or storing players when not in use) and seem to fit players much better than straps. It includes one setting for each of the players (so two) and that in itself is the best deal you can find. Velcro doesn't seem incredibly secure, but we won't be driving our minivan off-road, so I don't see that as a problem. ***Update*** Having traveled from Virginia to Texas and back, I have to say that I still like these bindings better than the standard straps, but they still need improvement. The bottom hook is holding up great and we had no issues with it, but the top hook has fallen off (taken the player with it) a few times. I know I joked that I wouldn't drive our van off-road, but even a few bumps on the freeway were enough to knock a player off their feet. For some reason the top "hook" just couldn't connect to the strap well enough for a secure fit. For that alone I'm deducting a star because it's still a great product, it just didn't work perfectly.
