Be patient but it works
My LB Elite controller has a broken bumper. Called Microsoft to try and fix it but they do not repair controllers and only replace controllers within 90 days of original purchase. After some searching, I found what I was looking for on YouTube and tried it out. It works, it took a bit of patience as YouTube claims and now I don't need a new controller. However, YouTube doesn't mention some things: 1. You have to remove the sticker from the first screw2. The handles may need extra tension - there is a small piece of tape holding them in place.
