Review on πŸ”Œ Power up Safely with Amazon Basics 6-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip - 1000 Joule, Black, including 2 USB Ports by Ralph Gerry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable manufacturer when reliability is important

Like almost everyone else, I suddenly switched from a previous part-time job to working from home 5 days a week. Now that I'm manipulating two monitors, a docking station, a Blue Yeti microphone, and other peripherals for my workstation, I needed a stronger surge protector than the old one I've been using up to now. More importantly, as technology advances, USB ports for chargers may not be enough. Especially with chunky cell phone and device chargers (check out your chunky Samsung charger) having something I could plug a very long USB cable into would make all the difference. I don't need an extra hub on my desk where there isn't enough space anyway. What to do? I bought this correct size surge protector from Revain Basics with 3 pins (fully adjustable for 2), USB ports and surge protection in case of a power outage (hehe). My area has two seasons of high winds, so this is a sensible decision. I've had no problems in the nine months I've owned my first protector and bought a second one for the office to port my home gaming rig onto. It feels solid and sturdy, not flimsy like other surge protectors/power supplies I have. You must use a light weight to pry the connectors out, which is a far cry from the loose connections that develop over time. It sits well on my desk, lies flat and barely moves, and it's impossible to accidentally turn it on or off by pressing a finger on the switch. Those little features are a bonus, while the main features here have been reliable and stable through howling gales, high winds and heavy electrical loads. Definitely a worthy addition to the household.
