Cheaper than better known brands but without losing functionality

The biggest difference between these bulbs and Lifx and Philips Hue bulbs is of course the price. Less than half the price is a big leap, and while you'd expect that to play a role in functionality or even longevity, it doesn't at all. Combined with the (newer) Plusminus app and Alexa or Google Assistant/Home, you can easily change the color or brightness and set the mood for each room without having to manually flick switches like with better-known competitors. They look like regular LED lightbulbs, so you'll probably forget that they even have smart functions when they're in the same room as other lightbulbs, but they don't need a super fancy design to work. I wish they were a little brighter to accommodate larger spaces - and one is definitely enough for a small bedroom or entryway - but it's still fun when you can have multiple colors at once when throwing a party or playing music. I recommend these bulbs to absolutely anyone who wants to get into the smart home ecosystem without wanting to invest a tidy sum if they change their mind. I have almost nothing negative to say about these bulbs and that should say a lot. *** A Few Notable Details About My Experience *** I installed one of these on my porch despite being told that colder, wetter weather was dangerous. No, no, but it works well, even in winter. I ran into an issue early on where the bulb would reset almost every night, but found that this was caused by a light sensor built into the design. Since then, I've had no problem turning it on via the app or Google Assistant and seeing it from the street at night, even at my favorite 25% brightness. It's nice to be able to change the color to match my Christmas decorations without buying a new garland or untangling last year's garland. you can easily switch back and forth. However, this complicates the tuning of these lights. Since my phone in our small house connects to the 5GHz band by default, and these lights only connect to the 2.4GHz band, I couldn't do any effective configuration or troubleshooting without first naming the 5GHz -Change bands for my phone to connect. on the other hand. I'm well versed in the tech world, but this extra step isn't for everyone. However, once set up, the app and Google Assistant act as bridges to connect without changing the group names again.
