Review on Lenovo ThinkPad X1 20QES8X600 I5 8265U by Dan Germain

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great laptop, I recommend it to everyone!

I bought this laptop (Ultrabook) which was delivered earlier than expected, delivered by DHL. Unpacking was easy. It was partially loaded. I forked it and it was fully charged very quickly. The initial Windows setup was pretty quick. I only installed a few programs like Microsoft Office and a few extras related to my work.1. Battery Life: I'm really impressed with the battery life of this computer. After two days of installing the software and making minor configuration changes, I fully charged it and let it play music continuously from YouTube after changing the power and sleep configuration to keep it working without interruption. The computer played YouTube for 10:30 hours. I was really impressed. The next day I fully charged it. A full charge took 1:40 hours.Excellent.2. Display: I may be naive, but I've never had the same experience with a display as I have with this computer. This gives you a kind of "3D image". Unbelievable. I showed it to my wife to see what I saw and she told me she had the same perception. Very good. Good YouTube recordings have excellent screen resolution.3. Keyboard: While the keyboard layout is a "classic" LeNovo layout, the touch is really smooth, with a rubbery feel on the fingers. Print is very responsive. The only thing I didn't like was that LeNovo swapped the Ctrl and Fn keys. On my previous (still used and very good) LeNovo Flex 5, the position of these two buttons is reversed. Why did LeNovo do this?4. Touchpad: The touchpad is also incredibly responsive. Smooth and pleasant to the touch. However, you must have clean hands before using the computer. After a few days, the touchpad has a greasy stain that is not easy to clean. Maybe it's my fault.5. Web Browsing: I don't really like Microsoft Edge (although I should try again). So I downloaded and installed Chrome. Browsing the web with Chrome is very fast.6. USB ports: The Ultrabook has two USB ports. Transferring a 62.2GB folder containing 304 movie files from a 1TB Toshiba Canvio Connect II portable hard drive to an Ultrabook took 8 minutes. 23 sec. The transfer back from the ultrabook to the external hard drive took 15 minutes. 33 sec I also installed an EPSON L3150 printer and connected it to the ultrabook. Printing works fine.7. HDMI port: I connected an external LG screen via the HDMI port and it worked fine too. Wireless mouse: I connected a wireless mouse to one of the USB ports and it worked very well.9. Internet connection: I tested with an Internet speed of 24.85 Mbit/s in the download and 6.00 Mbit/s in the download. I downloaded a 12GB Documents folder from Dropbox and it took 44 minutes and 46 seconds. Then I uploaded a 60.7GB folder to the WeTransfer file transfer site and it took 3 minutes 00 seconds. Streaming connection and playback was very fast. Running a computer with digital recognition is ideal. In my opinion, the ultrabook has one disadvantage: the on/off switch on the right side is a bit small and should at least be visible to me. .My overall experience with this ultrabook after 4 days of use is that it is very good. Congratulations to LeNovo for developing a modern Ultrabook that is very light. However, considering the price, the Ultrabook could be offered a protective cover. It would be a nice gift with a purchase. However, the computer is worth the money. Let's hope the battery life stays consistent throughout the year. My last laptop (LeNovo Flex 5) lost about half of its battery life after a year.
