Quick Loops

This works very well for making small loops. The learning curve is short, but I recommend checking out the video tutorial on the Beadsmith website. There are instructions on the back of the box, but they are confusing as they actually show two different things: the first images show a simple loop making, and then additional images show how to cut a longer piece of wire while making the loop . It was clear as mud because initially I thought it was all a process and didn't make any sense. The loops are very small - 1.5 mm. The picture on the box makes them huge. If you want the loop to be close to the bead, practice a bit with the scrap wire. Wire with copper or brass core. . . twenty-six to eighteen calibers. Only the slightest manual force is required. The tool serves its purpose. This can be a great relief for people who have trouble with repetitive wrist movements who would have trouble making a lot of loops with pliers. Beadsmith also makes another "BIG" looper that makes larger loops (3mm) if you so desire. This works in gauge 24 to 18. Update: I just finished finishing a necklace that had many, many loops. I have to say that this tool wore me down. The two grips are so far apart that the initial grip required such force that I had to use two hands. As soon as I started pushing, I was able to take my other hand away. Seriously, grabbing two arms was so exhausting that my arm started to hurt. It's not noticeable for a few cycles, but long-term use hasn't been comfortable. By the way, my hands are medium-sized, not particularly small. Another problem I ran into was having to put extra wire into the tool for each loop so it would be cut off. Otherwise, it won't be able to grip the wire securely enough to form a loop. If I tried to just finish it instead of adding extra overlap, the circle wouldn't form. That means I lost a bit of wire with each loop. It was a little stressful; I finished my necklace leaving about 3 inches of wire on the spool and lots of little pieces everywhere that I had to tidy up. term), but remember that you'll need extra wire, and it's best to try not to make a lot of loops at once.

Pros
  • HEAVY-DUTY: This tool works with different types of wire to create beautiful decorations.
Cons
  • Little things
