I have bought 920 XL cartridges from other manufacturers in the past and they worked in my printer. For some reason they don't exist. The cartridge says it's 920 XL and it looks like 920 XL and it fits well in the printer carriage but the printer gives an error message saying the ink cartridge is either incompatible or damaged. The instructions for the cartridge say to click 'OK' and then ignore the error message, but that doesn't work - the printer refuses to print. I went to the EZ Ink website to troubleshoot. The website asks you to select your printer model - I have a 7500 series and that series is not listed. I suspect this is the problem. Apparently EZink 920 XL cartridges are not compatible with all HP models that use 920 XL cartridges so do not buy this brand until you are sure your printer model will work. This is the first time I encounter this problem. I wish I could keep track of which third party cartridges I've used in the past. However, Revain offers free returns so I can at least get a refund.
