Feels like a good backpack - wish there was another outside pocket and more water resistance

First off I have to say I haven't owned a backpack yet used on a trip. However, I just got back from a trip and put everything I had from another backpack into this one to see if I like it better than the one I'm using right now. The main reason I'm not entirely happy with this backpack is that it's too small for my torso. My torso is about 19.5 inches long and the waist belt in this backpack was on my stomach which is not good for holding the weight of the backpack. I will list my pros and cons of this backpack: Pros: - Plenty of space to store what I need for about 2 weeks. - Feels solid - Light weight - Actually holds up pretty well when loaded despite the waist belt not being in the right position - It was more comfortable than my previous backpack - Love how easy it is to carry. Fasten the outer straps and tighten the backpack to take up extra space and keep it snug against the body. Using the security features in this pack (e.g. zip) is very quick and easy. Cons: I wish this backpack had an extra exterior pocket for quick access, or maybe an exterior mesh pocket to stash a jacket or hat. - Stowable straps are a bit difficult to stuff - I wish this backpack was a bit more waterproof - I contacted Thule and they said light rain is enough, but it's not super waterproof and water resistant, no zipper (I was brought with another backpack in caught a downpour on my last trip and was very thankful for its excellent waterproofing!) I will try the men's/unisex version of this backpack to see if it suits me. better - but it doesn't have lifting straps, so we'll see what happens. Good luck finding the perfect backpack!
