This lantern is suitable for many hours of reading. It's very bright and seems to be the right color temperature for reading. It is easily adjustable, has a simple switch, and is easy to install. For the installation I used a hammer, an awl, a spirit level and a screwdriver. I used a pencil to mark the position of the holes. I used a spike finder to make sure I didn't hit the spikes with the awl. After marking I used an awl to make holes. I then used a hammer to push the stakes into each hole. I then used a screwdriver to attach the bracket with screws. Once the bracket was attached it was easy to place the lamp on the bracket and secure with screws. I have used this lamp for several days in several places with excellent results. Reading with this lamp is very pleasant. It's a good idea to turn on the lamp and try different positions if someone is holding the lamp against the wall. Then mark the spot with a piece of tape. Then install the lamp. Excellent lamp. I look forward to many years of simple enjoyment from this lamp.
