Depending on which shaving base you originally ordered, they can be better than the blades in the head that you sold with. At least that was the case for me, although I haven't spent a ton on a razor (I think a year ago it was around $70 - kind of an impulse buy). I shave my head with a blade about three times a week and use an electric razor on the weekends to trim my hair or when I'm in a hurry. After six months, the original blades in the head were so old that the hair was being pulled out as often as it was trimmed, which is no fun at all. When this one arrived and I put it on, it worked better than a razor when new: not only did it not twitch, but it slid over my head like a wax polish. It has worn off a bit in the months since I received it, but even worn now it's almost as good as the one that came with the razor. I wish I could order a second one waiting in the closet!
