Review on Edifier TWS5 True Wireless Earbuds - 32 Hr Battery, Mic, Charging Case - Black by Tammy Strinden

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Small body, never-ending batteries; NO bass, slow connection

Case is insanely small. Not as small as the Apple AirPods, but very close. That was one of my most important criteria; here they were not disappointed. The battery life is insane. Eight full hours with just headphones; The case can fully charge them three more times for a total of 32 hours of battery life in your pocket. Additionally, each earbud can be used individually, allowing you to double the time spent on phone calls or mono listening. Phone calls were the main goal for them, so they delivered in spades. Great. The sound quality is excellent for podcasts and YouTube videos (I like science and history channels). But for music (and movies), bass just doesn't exist. Maybe that's why they have such insane battery life. But they were really disappointing for music, to the point that I ended up using other headphones for them. Another disappointment was the connection time. The headphones connected immediately, but it took a few seconds to connect to my iPhone 8. With another pair of Bluetooth 5 true wireless headphones, they felt more like Bluetooth 4 sound quality, but were still disappointing. The final disappointment was the terrible management. While the capacitive touch was great, you can't adjust the volume AND you can't call your voice assistant. I was aware of the lack of volume controls (I have an Apple Watch and can use it to control the volume). But the lack of voice assistants came as a surprise and prompted me to use my phone a lot. (Using my watch to initiate a call meant I was speaking into my watch rather than the headphones I was wearing. Very odd.)
