It's too much in my opinion
I bought sweaters for my 7 year old twins for Christmas photos. The sweater is nice but runs small. My twins are slim but that's the normal size they wear so I'd definitely say if you're looking for something for a slim kid definitely go down a size. Beautiful colour, well made. One of my sons said it was itchy so he wore a t-shirt under his.
