Good hybrid printer in general when it works but the whole machine becomes inactive and useless when one of your ink cartridges is empty. Mine is out of yellow and now I can't scan or print in black and white (I have a lot of black ink and it's now useless without a new yellow cartridge and I don't need to print in colour). On previous models, you could override this so you could continue using your printer. This model does not contain an override because. Well I don't think it's convenient for Canon to allow people to save money on ink or just use this device for basic black and white office use. I am deeply upset about this. I spoke to Canon customer service and they gave me an alleged overwrite method that didn't work and then told me that your printer won't work without a new yellow cartridge. So I said I would spread the word about this product. Do a little research on the ink level warning override on Canon products and you will find that they change the override with different models and there are many of these that you can try (and some, like mine, have no override). What's going on over there at Canon? And the overrides also have really crazy instructions like hold this button, then press this, release the first one, then press this twice, then unplug, then press this button twice, then open the ink door, press another button, and on and on. Crazy. You are literally trying to brick your device against buying ink. Serious gangster stuff.
