MAXIFY MB2320 Great all-in-one printer

We needed a new printer that could deliver faster, better quality prints for our home office. (Comes from Canon MP490) I chose this one from Canon's new Maxify range as its specs suited our needs. This is a fairly new printer from Canon. We've had this printer for about a week and couldn't be happier. I printed photos on Pro Luster paper, which looked fine for an all-in-one printer. All document printing was fast and clear. Setting up the printer took maybe 30 minutes at a relaxed pace. We have

SPECIFY LARGER THAN PRINTED DIMENSIONS IN USE.

Note the footprint dimensions - they do NOT include the amounts that the paper trays will stick out when full. The tray with letter-size paper (typically #1, the top tray) will stick out 2 3/4 inches, #2, the bottom tray) will stick out an additional 1 1/4 inches, for a total of 5 inches. There is no type of cover for this tray so the paper is exposed to EVERYTHING in the area. This reduces the usefulness of this printer in a home setting unless you can keep all the cats and small children away

Pros
  • Inspires confidence

  • There are downsides

Canon went too far to sell its ink

This may be the fourth Canon printer we own. All but this one delivered acceptable performance. The printer is used for routine printing in a home environment. No photo printing, just the regular documents you print out at home. Possibly a few leaves a day. However, the printer requires a printhead cleaning about once a week and a deep cleaning about once a month. We use non-Canon ink cartridges, brands that have worked without problems in other Canon printers, brands that get good reviews on…

Eats Canon ink cartridges like candy - beware

I bought the Maxify MS2320 in February 2015. The print quality is good and the two trays are nice as I can have regular paper in one tray and envelopes in the second tray. I didn't use the paper feeder or the scanner very much as I use a Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner for almost all my scanning needs. The color touchscreen display is helpful and easy to use. Firmware updates can also be carried out easily via the display. Unfortunately, the printer eats a lot of ink even though it's rarely used. It…

Good hybrid printer in general

Good hybrid printer in general when it works but the whole machine becomes inactive and useless when one of your ink cartridges is empty. Mine is out of yellow and now I can't scan or print in black and white (I have a lot of black ink and it's now useless without a new yellow cartridge and I don't need to print in colour). On previous models, you could override this so you could continue using your printer. This model does not contain an override because. Well I don't think it's convenient for

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • High price

Very disappointed. I bought this about 6 months ago

Very disappointed. I bought it about 6 months ago. I thought it would be good. The reviews seemed good. I consider myself tech savvy. Most people come to me with computer questions. Setting up WiFi is confusing. It took a while. It's not intuitive at all. Every time you open the paper drawer, you have to re-register the paper in the drawer. This is annoying when you have kids who want paper all the time. You cannot change ink cartridges if you want to. Yellow, cyan and magenta went out first…
