Review on πŸ”ͺ Fiskars Comfort Loop Rotary Cutter 45mm - Steel and Orange: A Highly Efficient Cutting Tool by Angela Rodriguez

Can't cut a straight line with it

I usually try to start off with good things about a product, but this product really annoys me. I bought Fiskars because they are the best or used to be the best. Not so much today. I waited a few days to write this review to be more objective. The blade is wobbly. It wobbles no matter how you tighten it, making it impossible to cut straight even on a thick aluminum ruler. The blade retracts into the handle as a safety measure. Unfortunately, my hands are slightly larger than average. Simply holding the device will press the back button and bam! it is removed when cutting. The blade is sharp and it cracked when it happened and I cut myself with it. To be safe, I bought a brand new self-healing mat to make cuts, and I cut from a template taped to the fabric. When my wife heard me praise the merits of this cutting tool, she suggested I was pushing it too hard. I tried using less pressure, which solved the retraction mode at times, but didn't eliminate it, but added that the tissue wasn't completely cut in one pass. In both scenarios, I pushed the slice cutter forward. So we tried to pull the cutter back. This solved most of the random blade instance retracts, but not all. This approach had the side effect that it was not easy to see where the blade was located and the fluctuation of the cuts became more pronounced. After all, the wasted fabric was worth more than the cutting machine. I threw it in a far corner or box, while praising the merits of this cutting tool, suggested I press on it too hard.
