As a professional electronics technician with over 25 years experience and an engineer for 15 years I have used many different side cutters and many Lindstrom cutters over the years. They have always surprised me with the quality of their instruments. This cutter seems to follow the same pattern. When the price dropped to almost $25 recently, I just had to bite down and buy another pair. I'm used to paying about $50 for a pair of these or a pair of Erem cutters. These are my "good" knives now, which I don't lend out. My second line flashlights are Xcelite MS54V. I too have been using this cutter model for many years and always have it in my tool box. It's also a great cutter, but not as refined or precise as the Lindstrom or Erem wire cutters. If you love and appreciate the finer things in instruments I can recommend this Lindstrom and you might want to check out Erems. If "pro quality" would do, I would choose an Xcelite cutter in that size range. I've been disappointed by many other diagonal cutters with poor jaw alignment, bulky die heads, snapping return springs, and soft or weak cutting edges. The three mentioned here have always done an excellent job. Keep in mind that this is a small precision cutter not designed to cut steel hangers and should last for decades.
